BLUES FORCE GAME 3 WITH SHUT OUT WIN

Box Score Four different players scored as the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team downed the Ottawa Gee-Gees 4-0 in Game 2 of the OUA East quarter-final series on Friday night (Feb. 15) in Ottawa.
 
The win ties the series at 1-1 and forces Game 3 tomorrow night in Ottawa at 7 p.m. The Gee-Gees took Game 1 3-2 in double overtime on Wednesday night at Varsity Arena.
 
Second-year forward and Blues leading scorer Jeff Brown (Toronto) scored the eventual game-winner 14:17 into the game, assisted by Blake Boddy and Tyler Luikkonen.
 
U of T’s Tanner Waldvogel put the Blues up by two just two minutes later to give the visitors a 2-0 lead heading into the second period.
 
Veteran forward Kyle Ventura of Scarborough, Ont., notched a powerplay goal midway through the second frame, and Michael Markovic added a shorthanded marker in the third period to round out the scoring.
 
Second-year netminder Brett Willows (Rivers, Man.) made 34 saves in the shut out win.
