Box Score The Varsity Blues men’s hockey team dropped their fourth straight game in a 6-2 loss to the Queen’s Gaels on Friday, January 25 at Kingston Memorial Arena.
Toronto (12-8-4) remains in fourth place in the OUA East, with the Gaels improving to 9-9-5 in seventh place. Despite the loss, the Blues take the season series with a 2-1-1 head-to-head record.
After Gaels assistant captain Brandon Perry opened the scoring 14 minutes into the first period, Blues leading scorer Jeff Brown evened the score notching his 14th goal and 30th point of the season.
Fellow Toronto native Michael Markovic put U of T ahead 6:09 into the second frame with a powerplay tally. Unfortunately for the Blues, it was all Gaels from there. Kelly Jackson notched the game-tying and winning goal within the next three minutes.
Queen’s added three unanswered goals in the third period to round out the win.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, February 1 as they host the McGill Redmen at Varsity Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
