MEN’S HOCKEY OFF TO QUEBEC FOR BATTLE OF FIRST PLACE

The No. 10 Varsity Blues men’s hockey team takes on the CIS defending champion McGill Redmen and the OUA East leading UQTR Patriotes on the road this weekend (Nov. 23-24).

The Blues are 7-3-2 and sit one point behind the first-place and No. 5 Patriotes (8-3-1). The Redmen are 6-5-0 and tied for sixth place, but only three points back of third in the OUA East standings.

Second-year forward Jeff Brown is Toronto’s top point-getter, with eight goals and seven assists in 12 games. Veteran Kyle Ventura (Scarborough, Ont.) also has eight goals, while Blake Bloddy has a team-high 10 assists so far in 2012-13.

The Blues return home the following weekend (Nov. 30-Dec. 1) when they host the Ottawa Gee-Gees and Concordia Stingers at Varsity Arena.
