Over 2,500 students from the Toronto District School Board will fill the seats of Varsity Arena this Thursday, October 25 as the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team hosts the Ryerson Rams in TDSB Hockey Day in Toronto.
 
U of T has an action-packed day planned, starting when gates open at 10 a.m. Puck drop is set for 11:30 a.m.
 
Young students will have a chance to take part in a pre-game science fair with Science Rendezvous and Pueblo Science from U of T’s Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering. The Pizza Pizza fun zone will also be set up in the stadium concourse and Pueblo Science will have a special treat during the first intermission.
 
U of T and Ryerson mascots, True Blue beaver and Eggy the Ram, will also be on hand for in-game entertainment. Players from both Toronto and Ryerson will be available for post-game autographs in the arena concourse.
 
The Varsity Blues are 3-0-1 to start the year and sit in second place in the OUA East division.  Sophomore forward Jeff Brown leads the team with two goals and four assists, while assistant captains Cassidy Preston and Kyle Ventura each have four goals in four games this season.
