Box Score Rookie forward Liane Bailey tallied a game-high 16 points as the Varsity Blues women’s basketball team defeated the RMC Paladins 88-45 on Saturday, February 5 in Kingston, Ont.
With the win, the Blues improve to 15-4 and remain in second-place behind the Carleton Ravens in the OUA East division.
A native of Montreal, Bailey was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line and added two steals to her career-high point performance. Veteran guard Sherri Pierce recorded 14 points, while both Joanna Medri and Jill Stratton had nine in Toronto’s eighth straight win.
RMC was led by Sandy Edmison’s 13 points, with Kim Egert adding 11 and Abby Edmison recording 10 in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, February 11 as they host the No. 4 Carleton Ravens at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym. It’s White Out Weekend when the women tip off at 6 p.m.
