BLUES FALL TO WESTERN MICHIGAN

The Varsity Blues men’s hockey team dropped a 7-2 decision to the Western Michigan Broncos in non-conference exhibition action on Saturday, October 1 in Muskegon, Michigan.

Down 2-0 after the first period, second-year forward Blake Boddy got the Blues on the board with a powerplay goal in the first minute of the second period.  The Broncos would add two more and held a 4-1 advantage heading into the final frame.

Veteran forward Dan Brewer accounted for Toronto’s second goal of the game, assisted by rookie forward Paul Van De Velde and Byron Elliott, at the midway point of the third.

Broncos Dennis Brown had one goal and four assists in the win.

The Varsity Blues return to action tomorrow as they take on Ferris State in Big Rapids, Michigan.  The puck drops at 3:05 p.m.
