Special teams would be the difference as the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team fell 2-0 to the UQTR Patriotes on Sunday, October 24 at Pavillion de la Jeunesse in Trois Rivieres, Que.
The Blues (0-2-3-0) struggled on the powerplay, going 0-for-6 and allowing two shorthanded goals.
Alexandre Demers shorthanded marker 1:16 into the game would prove to be the game-winner. Felix Petit added another one midway through the game to round out the 2-0 UQTR win.
Blues goaltender Andrew Martin of Mississauga, Ont., made 25 saves in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, October 29 when they host the Carleton Ravens at Varsity Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
