The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s hockey team fell 4-1 to the Queen’s Gaels on Saturday, October 25 in Kingston.
Queen’s came out strong, scoring two goals in the first five minutes of action. With Blues second-year defenceman Sean Kliewer (Brunklid, Man.) in the box, the Gaels potted their third midway through the first period.
Toronto’s rookie line accounted for what would be the Blues only goal of the game as Byron Elliot (Burlington, Ont.) and Claudio Cowdrey (Mississauga, Ont.) assisted on Kyle Ventura’s (Scarborough, Ont.) fourth goal of the season in the third period.
Queen’s would add an empty-net goal with 30 seconds remaining to come away with the 4-1 victory.
The Varsity Blues return home to host the RMC Paladins on Friday, October 31 at Varsity Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
