Second-year standout Peter Collier won the men’s heptathlon and helped the Varsity Blues to the overall team silver medal at the OUA track and field championships this past weekend at York University.
The mathematics major from Lower Sackville, N.S., won the grueling men's heptathlon gold medal with 4,956 points. Collier finished first in the 60m (6.96), long jump (7.03m) and high jump (1.83m), second in the 60m hurdles (8.58) and pole vault (3.70m), third in the 1000m (2:55.26) and fifth in the shot put (10.20m).
Collier also placed seventh overall in the men’s 60m dash in 6.97 seconds. The Blues second-place finish marked the program’s best result at the OUA championships since 1993-94.
