The second-year fencer Emily Principe won the gold medal in the individual epee at the OUA championships in St. Catharines, Ont. She also earned a silver medal in the team epee event. This helped the Varsity Blues capture back to back OUA fencing championships and the 13^th overall title in the school’s history.

The life sciences major from Sydney, Australia went through all competitors in the individual epee and capped it off beating Natasha Kis-Toth of the Ryerson Rams for gold. Principe also led the squad of Tiffany Shi, Sara Stonehouse and Aubrey Whittaker to a silver medal in the epee team event after falling to the Western Mustangs.
