First-year guard Iñaki Alvarez totaled 30 points as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s basketball team hosted two nationally ranked opponents this weekend at Goldring Centre.

Alvarez led all players with a career-high 22 points as the Blues narrowly fell, 70-68, to the No. 1 nationally ranked Carleton Ravens on Sunday afternoon. The native of Altafulla, Spain added two assists and two rebounds on the day.

The arts & science major also had eight points, two assists and two rebounds as the Blues dropped a 77-71 decision to the No. 7 Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday.
