Third-year goalkeeper Vanna Staggolis combined for 13 saves while leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s soccer team to their first playoff victory since 2014 this past week.

The kinesiology major from Toronto made six saves and earned the clean sheet as the No. 6 Blues upset the No. 3 Carleton Ravens, 1-0, in Ottawa on Wednesday night. Staggolis made a couple of key stops in the match, including a big save on a penalty kick in the second half.

Staggolis went onto tally seven saves as U of T dropped a narrow 2-0 decision to the top-seeded Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday.
