Fourth-year swimmer Kylie Masse earned four individual and two relay gold medals in leading the Varsity Blues women’s swimming team to a first-place finish at the OUA Fairweather division championships this past weekend at the University of Guelph.

Masse, the 2017 100 backstroke world champion and world record holder, handily won the 50 (26.70) and 200 (2:04.72) backstroke events. She also won the 100 freestyle in a time of 54.05 seconds.

The LaSalle, Ont., native capped off the meet in the 400 freestyle, an event that she does not swim. Masse was the first to touch the wall in 3:48.43, the fastest time swam in this event in Canada this year.

She also helped the Blues to first-place finishes in the 200 freestyle and 200 medley relays. Toronto won the meet with 1,147 points, 513 points ahead of the second-place Western Mustangs (634).
