Alex Barnes, a second-year outside hitter from Toronto, led all players with 15 points as the Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team defeated the Trent Excalibur 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-21) in their home and season opener on Friday night.
 
The history major totalled 14 kills and one ace, while adding eight digs in the win. The performance sees Barnes ranked fourth in the OUA in both kills (4.67) and points (5.00) per set.
