Veteran pitcher Graham Tebbit led the Varsity Blues baseball team to their first OUA championship title since 2012 this past weekend in Ajax.

Tebbit kicked off the championship pitching eight shutout innings, allowing only five hits while striking out eight in Toronto's 6-0 quarter-final victory over the fifth-seeded Guelph Gryphons.

The Master's of Exercise Science student chipped in offensively Saturday, hitting a two-out single to drive in two runs and give the Blues an early 2-0 lead. The Blues would go on to defeat Waterloo, 7-3, in the semi-final showdown. Â

Tebbit returned to the mound in Sunday's championship final versus the Laurier Golden Hawks. The native of Mississauga, Ont., pitched the final three innings, earning the save, allowing only three hits and one run while striking out two in Toronto's 8-3 championship victory.
