Fourth-year winger Julia Cicconi scored two tries as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s rugby team dropped a narrow 29-25 decision to the Laurier Golden Hawks in their 2017 season opener on Saturday night (Sept. 2) in Waterloo, Ont.
 
Cicconi opened the scoring with her first try of the game just six minutes into the contest. The criminology major from Mississauga put Toronto ahead, 25-24, with just 10 minutes remaining in the game, but the Hawks were able to add a late try to secure the win.
