A second-year phenom from LaSalle, Ont., Kylie Masse earned CIS female swimmer of the year honours in leading the Varsity Blues to their first national title since 1996-97 this past weekend at Laval University.
Masse swept the backstroke events, all in CIS record time, including a Canadian senior long-course record in the 50-metre event on Day 1. The CIS first team all-Canadian also earned an individual silver medal in the 200 IM on Day 3.
A second-year kinesiology major, Masse helped Toronto’s 400 freestyle relay team to gold, while also earning silver as a member of U of T’s 200 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay teams.Â
