Sarah Boyle won the gold medal in women’s high jump at the 2008-09 OUA track and field championships this weekend (Feb. 27-28) hosted by York University.
The fourth-year faculty of physical education and health student was the only high jumper to meet the CIS standard, jumping 1.80m, and finished well ahead of second-place Shaneista Haye (1.66m) from the University of Guelph.
Boyle was just one of two women’s team members to earn a first-place finish, leading the Varsity Blues to a fourth-place finish overall.
The Scarborough, Ont. native will look to improve upon her 2006-07 CIS bronze medal finish at the 2008-09 CIS championships, March 12-14, at the University of Windsor.
