Veteran Kate Sauks earned a gold and silver medal at the 2012 OUA rowing championships on Saturday, October 27 in St. Catharines, Ont.
The native of Owen Sound, Ont., overcame the torrential rain and wind to place first in the lightweight women single, winning the race in 4:23.25.
Sauks then teamed up with Kate Nay, Megan Lewicki, Jenn Seidel and Emily Donaldson to take the silver medal in the lightweight women coxed four with a time of 3:46.12.
The graduate student led the Blues to a fifth-place finish at the championship.
