Third-year forward Nicki Shutz knocked down 47 points and hauled in 31 rebounds in two games to lead the OUA East-leading Varsity Blues to their sixth consecutive win and eighth win in the past nine games.

The Faculty of Physical Education and Health student had 24 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in a win on Friday night (Jan. 23) versus the Laurentian Voyageurs. The Blues player of the game for Saturday’s game against York, Shutz tallied game-highs in both points, 23, and rebounds, 17. She also had three key blocks and three steals down the stretch to help the Blues halt the Lions comeback attempt.

The Toronto native is currently ranked second in the CIS in rebounding, averaging 12.31 rebounds per game and seventh in OUA scoring, averaging 16.81 points per game.
