Vanessa Treasure bettered Olympian Liz Warden’s 200-metre individual medley meet record en route to a triple gold-medal performance as the Varsity Blues women’s swimming team handily defeated the McMaster Marauders on Saturday afternoon.
 
The second-year physical education student topped Warden’s previous record (2:17.16) with a time of 2:16.98.  Treasure started the meet with a dominant victory in the 200 breaststroke, finishing a full 10 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer in 2:31.22.
 
The Mississauga, Ont., native also topped the field in the 50 breaststroke in another meet record time of 33.37 seconds. All three of the races were won in CIS standard time.
