Casey Pottier earned the Roy Gunnell Trophy as the 2011 OUA women’s water polo championship most valuable player after leading the Varsity Blues to their fourth provincial title in team history.
 
A native of Kitchener, Ont., Pottier led all players with 16 goals in five games, including a five-goal performance in Toronto’s 9-4 victory over the two-time defending champion Carleton Ravens in the gold medal game.
 
The fourth-year kinesiology major opened the weekend by scoring four goals in a dominant 16-3 win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees. Pottier continued to shine with five goals in a 15-3 victory versus the Queen’s Gaels and two goals versus the McMaster Marauders (7-1) on Sunday morning.
