Varsity Blues swimmer Curtis Samuel recorded three first-place finishes and three second-place finishes as the Varsity Blues defeated the Guelph Gryphons and McMaster Marauders in dual meet action this weekend (Jan. 10-11).

In Saturday’s meet versus Guelph, Samuel (Etobicoke, Ont.) dominated the 400m freestyle, finishing 21 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer. He also finished second in the 200m backstroke and freestyle as the Blues men’s team handily defeated the Gryphons 104-43.

The Faculty of Physical Education and Health student also helped his squad to a 77-51 victory over the McMaster Marauders. Samuel picked up first-place finishes in the 200m individual medley (IM) and the 100m backstroke as well as a second-place finish in the 100m butterfly.
