Leadership & Governance

Varsity Board
Varsity Board is a standing committee of the Faculty’s Council of Athletics and Recreation and consists of representation of each of the 42 Varsity Blues teams. Participation in the Varsity Board provides an opportunity for Student-Athletes to engage within the four pillars of Varsity Blues Athletics: Academics, Athletics, Community Service & Leadership.

Representatives are responsible for maintaining constant dialogue with their teammates, and providing a leadership role in recruiting their fellow student-athletes in the initiatives of the board. Representatives are the student-athlete voice.

Varsity Board has an Executive Leadership Committee which is led by:
•    2 Co-Presidents
•    VP Academic and Leadership Development
•    VP Athlete Engagement
•    VP Community Outreach
•    VP Communications

Structure of the Varsity Board
  • One male and female representative from each Varsity Blues team, if applicable. Representatives need to be varsity student-athletes currently consuming eligibility (exceptional cases may be presented) with a keen interest and passion for student-athlete involvement, community outreach and leadership development
  • Varsity Blues staff members (non-voting member)
  • Faculty Advisor/Coach (non-voting member)
  • Faculty Administrator (non-voting member)
Head Coaches are required to submit representatives’ names and phone numbers to the intercollegiate office by the second week of September. We acknowledge some Blue & White division teams will not yet have a team representative filled. All teams should have a voting member identified by October 1st. A summer executive group will be established at the April meeting on an annual basis.
