DE PASS, BRADFIELD NAMED CIS ALL-CANADIANS

University of Toronto Varsity Blues football players Paul de pass and Kevin Bradfield were honoured as first team all-Canadians at the Sun Life Financial All-Canadian Banquet, presented by Mallette, Thursday evening in Quebec City.

de Pass ended his five-year career with a bang. The Ajax, Ont., native ranked second among OUA receivers and third in the CIS with 53 catches for 970 yards and six majors, which also broke U of T's single season receiving yards record (Francis Ettienne, 1995, 860 yards).

In his final game in the Blue and White, de Pass topped  two-time CIS all-Canadian Mark Magee's career receiving yards team record, ending his career with 2,490 yards, topping Magee's 2,385 record set between 1977-81. He also connected with QB Simon Nassar for a 103-yard strike to set the longest pass completion record at U of T.

Bradfield (Toronto) also etched his named into U of T's record book, passing Glenn McCausland's (1990-94) career punt return yardage record of 1,135 yards. The Toronto native also set new U of T records for the most punt returns (59) and punt return yardage (734) in a season, surpassing Roger Lippert's 1983 records of 49 returns for 539 yards. He led all players in the CIS in punt return yardage this season.
