Members of the Varsity Blues women’s rowing team earned a silver and bronze medal in the lightweight fours women category at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta this weekend (Oct. 22-24) in Boston.

Racing as members of the U of T Rowing Club, current Varsity Blue Alana Komisar teamed up with alumna Lauren Brown, Christina Malinas, Kat Romatowski (coxswain) and for Blues coach Megan Jackson to earn the silver medal with a time of 18:00.21.

The third boat to cross the finish line was Don Rowing Club, featuring Varsity Blues standouts and sisters Jen and Kate Sauks.

U of T also entered a team in the collegiate fours men category and finished 22nd out of a field of 41 boats.

The Varsity Blues return to the water this weekend (Oct. 29-30) as they head to St. Catharines, Ont., for the 2010 OUA championship.
