Stephen Monteith

Stephen Monteith played 7 seasons (1961-67 and 1968-69) of Varsity hockey and is the Blues leading career scorer with 117 goals and 149 assists for 266 points. He was the OUAA All-Star right winger 6 times, won 2 league scoring titles and was a key member of 5 league champions and 3 CIAU national titleists. The Monteith Trophy is presented annually to the Blues leading scorer.

In 1964-65, he was the Blues captain and Most Valuable Player, and was the League's top scorer with 27 goals and 33 assists for 60 points in only 16 games. Monteith served on the Men's Athletic Directorate in 1964-65 and is the only double winner of the prestigious Loudon Award, presented for Outstanding Services in the Advancement of University Athletics; he received the Award in 1965 and was co-winner with his brother Henry in 1967. Monteith was a member of Canada's Bronze Medallist Hockey team at the 1968 Winter Olympics. He is a lawyer on Stratford.
