Stelio had an outstanding four-year career with the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team. Team captain for two years in a row, Stelio led his team to an undefeated season in 1982, while his personal scoring record topped OUA charts the following year.
Recognized as an OUA first team all-star in both 1982 and 1983, Stelio was also named an all-Canadian, and was voted U of T’s 1983 male athete of the year.
Stelio went on to compete at the 1980 Olympic Games in Lake Placid, New York, and was selected to national pre-Olympic teams in 1978-79 and 1982-83.
