Randall "Randy" Sageman

Randy Sageman was a University of Toronto and Canadian diving force throughout the 1980s. During his impressive career with the Varsity Blues (1981-85), Randy claimed 16 CIAU and OUAA medals in the 1m and 3m events. His efforts earned him the CIAU Diver of the Year Award for each of his four years of competition. His outstanding athletic and leadership abilities were recognized by being named captain of the men's swimming and diving team and awarded the George M. Biggs Trophy in 1985. He was named the University of Toronto's Male Athlete of the Year in 1982 and 1985.

Adding to Randy's success were his concurrent intercollegiate, national and international participation. As a member of the Canadian National Diving Team from 1980-86, he earned 11 national titles. Internationally, he represented the university at the FISU Games in Edmonton in 1983 and Kobe Japan in 1985. Randy also participated in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, the FINA Cup in Shanghai, China in 1985 and the Commonwealth Games in 1986 in the 3m event.

Following his graduation from Woodsworth College in 1985 Randy was an assistant coach with the Varsity Blues from 1986 to 1990.
