A four-time OUAA all-star, Paul Cox helped the Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team to three provincial titles during his five-year career. A starter from day one, Paul captained the Blues for four seasons, helping the team to a then program-best bronze-medal finish at the 1984-85 CIAU championship.

He was named a CIAU all-Canadian in 1986-87 after helping the Blues to a fifth-place finish at the national championship. He received his Silver T in 1986 and went onto serve as an assistant coach with the team.

Paul excelled on the beach from 1987-96. He was a finalist at the 1992 Canadian national beach championships and won a gold medal at the 1993 Jose Cuervo national championships. He represented Canada at NORCECA and FIVB events and placed 13th at the 1996 world championships in Brazil.

Paul has served as a City of Barrie firefighter since 1997.
