Mary Casson helped the U of T women’s swimming team to three league titles from 1938-40, leading the team to an undefeated season in 1939-40. She came into the program as a holder of nine Canadian swimming records and went onto set an intercollegiate record in the 50-yard freestyle.
Mary also played intermediate (1938-39) and varsity (1939-40) basketball. She also participated in intramurals for three consecutive years. She won the Victoria Athletic Stick in 1940 and was a women’s senior T Holder in 1939-40.
That same year, she served on the WAA executive and was the president of the swim club.
