Lori Dupuis has what many athletes can only dream of – an Olympic gold medal. As a member of the national women’s hockey team at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, Dupuis and her teammates made Canada proud with a gold medal-winning performance. This victory was a follow-up to the Olympic silver medal the team won four years earlier in Nagano.

A native of Cornwall, Ontario, Lori starred on the Varsity Blues women’s hockey team from 1991 to 1997 and served as team captain for three of those years. An outstanding athlete with incredible power and speed, Lori led by example. Her hard work and determination earned her an extraordinary five OWIAA all-star awards. Her former OWIAA career records for overall points (136) and assists (78) survived until 2005. With Lori at the helm, the Blues won four OWIAA gold medals. Topping off an incredible list of intercollegiate accomplishments, Lori was twice nominated for University of Toronto’s Female Athlete of the Year (1996 and 1997).

Lori also won gold in all three of the World Championships in which she participated (1997, 1999 and 2000). Lori continues to play hockey for the Brampton Thunder in the NWHL and runs the popular Jayna Hefford / Lori Dupuis Hockey School for Girls.
