Gail Wilson compiled an enviable record as one of Varsity's most successful and all-round athletes from 1964-68. She was a key team member in three Intercollegiate sports: Field Hockey from 1966-68, three undefeated championship teams; Ice Hockey from 1965-68, serving two years twice as Captain and leading the Blues to two league championships; and Swimming, one year.

Wilson was also active in the Intramural program -- Badminton, three years; Basketball, three years and one championship; Bowling, one year; Field Hockey: three years and one championship; Ice Hockey: four years and three championships; Swimming, three years; Volleyball, one year. She also served on the Women's Athletic Association Directorate and received the Benson Honour Award in 1968.

Wilson was member of Ontario provincial Field Hockey team and reserve member of Canadian team for several years. She teaches at the University of British Columbia and during 15 years of coaching, her teams won five CIAU national Field Hockey championships between 1979 and 1991. She was voted the CIAU Field Hockey Coach of the Year in 1984 and 1987, and received the prestigious 3M Coach of the Year Award in October 1991.
