Liz Hart made an outstanding impact on the basketball court, earning numerous league and CIAU awards during her five-year career with the Varsity Blues.
During the 1997-98 season, Liz was named a CIAU first team all-Canadian, the OUA East division most valuable player and a league first team all-star. Liz was also the inaugural winner of the OUA player of the week award and was a U of T athlete of the week.
Liz’s style on the court earned her the R.W. Pugh Fair Play Award at the 1995 CIAU tournament. She was an OUA league and tournament all-star in both 1995-96 and 1996-97. She led the CIAU in free-throw accuracy in 1995-96 and was a CIAU tournament all-star.
Liz also competed on the international stage as a member of Team Canada at the 1997 World University Games in Sicily.
Liz’s standout career at U of T was honoured in her graduating year when she received the Clara Benson Honour Award for her outstanding abilities in both athletics and scholarship.
