Edgar was named an OUAA all-star in each of his five seasons with the Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team, earning CIAU all-Canadian honours twice: in 1987-88 and 1990-91. He helped the Blues to three provincial titles, including an undefeated season in 1986-87 and perfect league records in 1987-88 and 1990-91.

Edgar was instrumental in Toronto’s silver-medal finish at the 1991 CIAU championship. That year, he was named recipient of U of T’s George M. Biggs Trophy, presented annually to the male athlete who has contributed most to university athletics from the standpoint of leadership, sportsmanship and performance.

He wasa member of the Canadian national junior team in 1989-90.
