A five-year starting offensive guard, David Scandiffio enjoyed great success with the Varsity Blues football team. Over his career, Scandiffio helped U of T to an impressive 37-13 record, played in three Yates Cup championship games and capped it all off with the 1993 Yates Cup and Vanier Cup titles.

He helped the Blues reach the OUAA finals in 1989 and 1990 and was recognized as a provincial second team all-star in 1990. Two seasons later, Scandiffio was honoured as an OUAA first team all-star and CIAU first team all-Canadian. He also became the third consecutive Varsity Blue to win the J.P. Metras Trophy as the OUA lineman of the year.

The 1993 season saw Scandiffio again receive OUA and CIS first all-star team laurels en route to the provincial and national championship titles. The two-year Blues team captain went on to be selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the 1993 CFL draft. In 2001, Scandiffio was named a member of the Varsity Blues All-Century Team.
