Alvin Garcia was the first-ever winner of the Charles Walters Trophy, given annually to the provincial foil champion. Garcia won the title in both 1937-38 and 1938-39, while claiming the individual fencing champion title in 1936-37 and 1937-38. He helped the Blues to senior team titles in 1936-37 and 1938-39, while receiving his Bronze T in 1939.
Alvin also participated in intramural hockey and fencing, and served on the club executive for boxing, wrestling and fencing.
