SPRUKULIS SIGNS WITH SASKATCHEWAN

Recent University of Toronto Varsity Blues football graduate Danny Sprukulis has signed a two-year contract with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) as announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot-5, 310-pound offensive lineman from Oakville was selected 46th overall by the Roughriders in the 2017 CFL draft but came back to play his fifth and final year of U SPORTS eligibility with the Blues.

Sprukulis started in 40 consecutive regular season games for the Varsity Blues, never missing a game for the past five seasons. He was invited to the 2016 East West Bowl and was named a member of the OUA all-rookie team and U of T's male rookie of the year across all sports in 2013.

He graduated from U of T's Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering with a degree in mechanical engineering last spring and is currently completing his Master's of Business Administration at the Rotman School of Management.
