Box ScoreThird-year forward Manny Sahota notched a game-high 40 points in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's basketball team to a 97-91 victory over the Bishop's Gaiters on Day 1 of the Jack Donahue Tournament in Ottawa on Friday night (Oct. 24).
Sahota (Brampton, Ont.) went 14-for-21 from the floor and 8-for-12 from beyond the arc, while also adding seven rebounds. Julian Clarke notched 16 points, while Devin Johnson had 13 points and nine boards on the night.
Kwasi Oti-awere added 12 points and five rebounds in the win.
Bishop's was led by a 32-point performance from Kyle Desmarais.
The Varsity Blues second game of the tournament versus WPI was cancelled due to the recent events in Ottawa. Toronto will practice tomorrow and take on the host Gee-Gees on Sunday at 12 p.m. The game will be streamed live on OUA.tv. Â Â
