BLUES IMPRESS WITH 7-1 RECORD IN FALL CLASSIC

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's water polo team hosted the U of T Fall Classic tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Varsity Pool. The tournament consisted of water polo clubs and universities from the eastern US and Canada. The Blues finished the two-day tournament with an impressive record of 7-1.

U of T opened their weekend by defeating the Hammer Water Polo Club 12-11. With no rest, the team was back in the pool for another match as they faced Penn State University. Once again, the Blues came out victorious, defeating the Nittany Lions 18-8. Toronto finished off day one with three games in a row, coming out victorious in all three matches. The Blues trounced the London Water Polo Club 17-2, beat the Western Mustangs 16-1, and capped off the evening with an 8-6 win over the Carleton Ravens.

Day 2 started off slower for the Blues, with Penn State handing them their first and only loss of the weekend, 12-10. Toronto was back to full form in their next two matches, easily defeating McMaster 18-4, and finishing their tournament with a 19-13 win over the Hammer Water Polo Club.

The Blues were led by Milos Radojcic who had 16 goals in the tournament, while William Gorin added 13 goals, and Michael Chapman tallied 11.

The Varsity Blues next travel to Kingston, Ontario to take on the Queen's Gaels on Saturday, November 1. The start time has not yet been determined.
