Fourth-year defensive back Kevin Kinahan is coming off a breakout season, posting 20 solo tackles and earning an invitation to last season’s East West Bowl. Kevin gives fans an inside scoop on the 2012 Varsity Blues football season in ‘Kevin’s Critique’.
What’s up Blues Fans! I’m Kevin Kinahan, a fourth-year defensive back and I am happy to announce that the football season has officially started!
As most students are enjoying the final weeks of the summer, the Varsity Blues are set to begin training camp for the 2012 season. After months of getting bigger, faster and stronger it is finally time to put the pads back on.
Training camp is a great opportunity to form relationships with one another. In football, you have to be able to go into each game believing in every one of your teammates and this trust is created at camp. At the same time, this year’s camp will be one of the most competitive in recent memory. There has been major improvement from the younger players and they are ready to show the coaches that they deserve to be on the field.
Due to the work of Coach Gary and the rest of the coaching staff, this team is confident and prepared to shock the CIS. We have been steadily improving in recent years and it is now time to take that next step and show everyone that this team is a contender.
