BLUES 2-1 HEADING INTO DAY 3 OF OUA CHAMPIONSHIP

Day 2:

The Varsity Blues are 2-1 after the second day of the 2012 OUA women's water polo championship. The Blues defeated McMaster, 11-5, and fell 9-6 to the host Ravens.

In their first game of the day versus McMaster, Danielle Hirsh led Toronto with four goals, while Megan MacLaine and Stephanie Lesaux-Farmer each had two markers. Maggie Burlington, Casey Pottier and Stefanie Chapman each scored once in the victory. 

MacLaine added two goals versus Carleton, with Johanna Pinto Lee, Stephanie Watts, Julie Szpara and Stefanie Chapman each adding a single marker in the loss. 

The Blues wrap up pool play tomorrow versus Queen's at 10:20 a.m.

Day 1:

The Varsity Blues women’s water polo team opened the 2012 OUA championship with a dominant 9-2 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday night at Carleton University.
 
Casey Pottier, Megan MacLaine and Danielle Hirsh each potted two goals two lead the Blues, while Stephanie Lesaux-Farmer, Danielle Ouellette and Stephanie Watson added single tallies in the win.
 
Play resumes Saturday.
