FINAL ROUND CANCELLED - SAMUEL FINISHES 13TH AT CANADIAN CHAMPS

Fredericton, N.B. - After Wednesday’s third round at the 2010 Canadian University/College championship was suspended due to darkness, fifth-year Varsity Blues golfer Scott Samuel made the cut for the men’s individual final early Thursday morning before the final round was cancelled due to weather.

The championship was shortened to 54 holes after heavy rainfall on Thursday that rendered the course unplayable and forced the cancellation of the final round.

Samuel (Oakville, Ont.),U of T’s only golfer to earn a spot into the final, finished in a three-way tie for 13th after shooting 217 (71, 69, 77) over three rounds. In a very competitive field, the third-year commerce student was a mere five strokes behind first-place Phillipe-André Barron of the Université de Montréal.
