MEN’S VOLLEYBALL 2009-10 YEAR IN REVIEW

The Varsity Blues men’s volleyball team made their first playoff appearance since 2007, finishing the season 10-10 and in seventh place in the OUA.

Unfortunately, U of T met the eventual OUA champion Queen’s Gaels in the quarter-final round and fell in three sets, ending their 2009-10 season.

Toronto was once again led by fifth-year leftside hitter Steven Kung. Kung led the OUA this season with an impressive 5.20 points and 4.58 kills per game. Sophomore Mike Manning also finished on the top-10 leader board, averaging 3.59 points per game.

Matt Stefanoff was big for the Blues at the net, finishing the season ranked fourth in the OUA, averaging one block per game. Deagan McDonald ranked seventh among OUA setters with 8.67 assists per game.

Kung was named an OUA first team all-star and second team all-Canadian.
