The two-time champion Varsity Blues women’s fencing team fell from the top of the podium but remained a threat and claimed bronze at the 2009-10 OUA championships.
The Blues placed third in the overall team standings with 199 points.
Kelly Doyle led Toronto to a first-place finish in the sabre event with a silver medal performance, adding 25 points to the team total. Kristina Han wasn’t far behind, finishing fourth in the competition, giving her squad an additional 13 points.
Jodi Marr was also a top performer for the Blues, finishing with a bronze medal in the foil competition. She picked up 19 points and pushed her team to a third-place finish in the event.
Toronto also placed second in the epée event, thanks in large part to a couple of strong finishes by Joanne Ko and Amber Wavryk.
