FIGURE SKATING 2009-10 YEAR IN REVIEW

Under the guidance of first-year head coach Michelle Woll, the figure skating team has made a steady climb in recent years at the 2010 OUA championships.

Toronto finished fourth for the second consecutive season with a combined team score of 57 points. Guelph defended their title to earn their second straight banner, while the Mustangs finished second and Waterloo in third.

Amanda Tully led the way for Toronto with a gold medal in the gold free skate on day one of competition. Tori Prouse, Tiffany Tse, Sophie Adam and Lydia Schultz followed that up with a first-place finish in the pairs fours on Thursday morning.

The Blues also earned three silver medals during the two-day event. Adam and Ashleigh Scholig’s were second in the junior silver similar dance, while Julie Hommik and Gillian Saunders earned silver in the intermediate similar pairs. Tully and Veronica Hall rounded out Toronto’s podium finishes with a second-place finish in the senior similar pairs.
