The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s water polo team recorded a perfect 12-0 season on their way to earning their second consecutive OUA title in 2009.
The Blues were dominant from day one and went undefeated (10-0) in regular season action to finish atop the OUA standings.
Toronto recorded the most goals for (149) and fewest goals against (49) over 10 regular season games.
The Blue and White easily defeated the fourth-place York Lions 15-4 in semi-final action.
In a rematch of the 2008 final, U of T defeated the Carleton Ravens 14-4 to complete their perfect season and win their sixth provincial title since 2002 and their fifth in the last six years.
Blues goaltender Trevor Robinson and first-year players Graeme Myers and Luke Spooner were named OUA first team all-stars, while fellow rookie Alan Chung and the team’s second goaltender Andrew Chorniy earned second team nods. Chung finished the season ranked third in the OUA with 31 goals in 10 games.
