Like their male counterparts, the Varsity Blues women’s tennis team was 3-3 during the 2009 OUA regular season to finish in fourth.

The Blues had the tough task of playing the No. 1 team, Montreal Carabins, in their semifinal. Toronto fell 1-0 to the eventual champions, however, did go on to claim the bronze medal in defeating the York Lions 4-3.

Daria Zakharchenko earned her second OUA all-star recognition in as many years. The arts and science major competed in the number one singles spot for the Blues and helped to bolster U of T’s doubles presence in the number two position.
