Megan Brown of the University of Toronto Varsity Blues cross country team has been named the OUA athlete of the week for the period ending November 1.

Brown (Guelph, Ont.) reclaimed the women’s individual title at the 2009 OUA cross country championships on Saturday in St. Catharines, Ont.

This is the third time in four years that Brown has won this race, as she also finished first in 2008 and 2006.

The faculty of physical education and health student finished the 5km race in 17:07, 34 seconds ahead of silver medalist and teammate Erin McClure (Waterloo, Ont.). She was also named the 2009 OUA most valuable runner and an OUA first team all-star for her gold-medal performance.
