The Varsity Blues women’s curling team showed great improvement this season. With some solid performances and very competitive games, the Blues will look to build on their experiences to improve upon this year’s eighth-place finish.
This season’s highlight was an amazing five points they took from an unexpecting Brock Badgers team, shocking their opponents and the fans. The top Blues curler was vice Patricia Malvar. Her skills in sweeping and big weight shots brought an element to our team that is rare in women’s curling.
The men’s curling team got off to a slow start this season. They played hard, however were on the wrong end of some very close matches, finishing the season with a record of 2-5. Three of the five losses were by two points or less.
The top performers this season were returning veterans, skip Jon Braden and second David Stammers. Their consistent play was a tremendous asset to the team.
